I didn’t practice yoga this morning,
And while yoga helps calm the mind,
My body instead told me, “Never mind.”
I went back to bed instead,
Another hour and a half of sleep was what I needed.
My mind was relaxed, my body felt rested,
And my spirit was rejuvenated.
And tonight as I unwind,
My body is once more speaking,
“Thank you for listening,
To me you were kind, gentle, and loving.”
I didn’t practice yoga on the mat this morning,
But practice yoga I did,
Because as I listened to my body,
Alignment with my mind and spirit was what I achieved.
