Such is life.
A rollercoaster ride.
We are excited. But we feel scared.
We smile but inside, we are frantic.
We are nervous. We laugh because we are nervous.
We want to get to the end of the ride.
We are having second thoughts.
Why did I even take this ride?
What was I thinking?
Was I even thinking?
We want to retract.
But no, this is going to be fun.
We close our eyes to lessen the fear.
At times, we open them when we want to face our fear.
We are on top. We are at the bottom.
We hold on tight. And then we let go.
We scream. We yell, “Enough!”
But the train moves on.
And we want to holler, “Stop! Please stop!”
But it continues. And it turns around.
The train doesn’t always move forward. Sometimes it moves backwards.
The train slows down for a moment.
We rest. We relax. We breathe. Ahh….
Then it starts to move again.
The train moves slowly.
We feel anxious once more. Oh no, here we go again.
Then it moves at its fastest speed.
No time to think. No chance to panic.
We stop breathing.
But that doesn’t help.
It’s best to just let it all out, let it go, enjoy the ride.
Before long, we turn upside-down.
Then the train stops. Abruptly.
And we get to the end of the ride.
And when we alight the train, we are relieved.
We laugh heartily. We survived!
And we enjoyed the ride. Tremendously.
We are thrilled by the rollercoaster ride.
And we want to ride again.
And such is life.
